Webinar- Are Europe hydrogen leadership programs and incentives working as intended?

May 16th at 10 UK / 11h CEST (Check your local time) | Duration: 1h

José Manuel Pérez Rodríguez

Head of H2 Regulation & Government Affairs

Belén Gallego

CEO [Moderator]

According to Ursula von der Leyen, the next decades will see ‘the greatest industrial transformation of our times – maybe of any time.

In fact, a huge transformation is going on in the energy industry to move towards decarbonization goals. The ambition is to produce 10 million tonnes and import 10 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen in the EU by 2030 – which implies 300 to 400GW of renewable energy capacity.

The focus of these actions is to accelerate the uptake of renewable hydrogen, ammonia and other derivatives in hard-to-decarbonise sectors, such as transport, and in energy-intensive industrial processes.

But the ambitious plans come coupled with enormous challenges. For starters the European commission wants to recover technological leadership in the hydrogen space and that requires Europe becoming a top electrolyzer manufacturer. Of the 200 GW electrolyser capacity needed by 2030, currently only 160MW capacity exists in the EU.

What to Expect in this ‘electrolyzing’ webinar:

  • Market Mastery: Dive deep into the latest data on key hydrogen equipment in Europe and assess if local manufacturing is poised to meet the astounding growth looming on the horizon in Europe by 2030
  • Lagging regulation – explore the ins and outs of the current regulatory landscape and how it could be made more potent to accelerate the hydrogen industry growth
  • Is the current approach to local manufacturing working, and can the hydrogen industry growth objectives be achieved scale and cost-wise with local manufacturing?

Speakers:

  • José Manuel Pérez, Head of H2 regulation & Government affairs, EDP
  • Belén Gallego, CEO, RENMAD Events by ATA Insights
