The opening of the first pilot biomethane plant and the subsequent regulatory facilitations in administrative procedures are a step towards the development of the biomethane sector in Poland. Poland, being one of the countries with the greatest agricultural potential in Europe, has the chance to become one of the most important biomethane producers. Despite these very important achievements, no commercial biomethane plant has been built in Poland yet. 

The potential for biomethane production in the Polish context is supported by government programs such as the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 (FEnIKS), and Energia Plus.
