Making the leap from natural gas to renewable gases such a biomethane and renewable H2 is a challenge, not only on a national level but also on a continental scale. That’s why the EU’s Hydrogen and Gas Decarbonisation Package, adopted in May 2024, aims to transform the EU gas sector to align with its climate neutrality goals for 2050. The Package includes measures to repurpose natural gas infrastructure for hydrogen, promote renewable gas imports, and ensure long-term fossil gas contracts do not extend beyond 2049.
In this framework, EU countries must implement the rules by mid-2026 to enable the shift toward decarbonized gases while maintaining energy affordability and security. Renewable gas developers, distribution companies, as well as consumers must start embracing these new practices to pioneer the change in the European energy paradigm.
Join this webinar to listen to a panel of industry experts and get an insider’s view into the challenges and opportunities that the Package brings to renewable gases in Europe.
- Understand the impact of the new EU regulations and learn how the renewable gas producers and distributors access this evolving market
- Discover how repurposing natural gas infrastructure and integrating hydrogen systems can drive cost savings, innovation, and energy system decarbonization
- Enhance your strategic planning and consumer insights and learn the keys of energy security measures to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving gas sector
